What are we learning 

1 

Algebraic Proof, Quadratics and Simultaneous Equations, Functions, Iteration, Further inequalities 

This first term we will be doing algebra - Using proof in algebra, solving quadratic and simultaneous equations; functions, rules defining relationships between two variables; iteration, used to solve equations and also in programming in computer science; further inequalities where we solve inequalities and graph our findings

Bearings, Circle Theorem, Further Trigonometry 

Using protractors to measure angles between 2 objects on maps; using circle theorem to calculate missing sides and angles in shapes especially triangles within circles; using trigonometry to find missing sides and angles/area in non right angled triangles using sine/cosine rule and 3D trigonometry.

Statistics, Transformations, Congruence, Vectors 

Statistics involving histograms, cumulative frequency and box plots to display data; transformations involving movement of shapes via reflection, rotation, translation both positive and negative; congruence, looking at how shapes are identical, and vectors, showing movement from one point to another, and using problem solving skills to calculate sizes of other sides of shapes.

Gradient/Area Under a Curve, Kinematics, Graph Transformations 

START OF REVISION 

.Calculating gradient using a tangent to a curve, kinematics, the study of motion and linked with GCSE science; graph transformations, taking sine cosine and tangent graphs, and describing their movements.
