Secondary Uniform

The wearing of Academy uniform is compulsory for all pupils and a high standard of dress is required at all times. We consider that uniform is important because:

  • It provides students with a sense of identity and pride in their academy.
  • It enhances the appearance of students and therefore the reputation of the academy.
  • It helps to instil in students a sense of purpose when they put on their uniform in the mornings.

We expect students to arrive each day with the correct equipment so they are ready to start work. A 30 minute detention may be issued to students who do not meet these requirements.

Uniform in Warm Weather

As we move into the warmer season the following arrangements for uniform will be in place:

  • If the temperature is forecast to be 20°C degrees or above- Swindon Academy PE kit can be worn or full school uniform.

We will use the BBC website on a Friday to look at the forecast for the week ahead and uniform arrangements will be posted on the school newsletter and sent out via E- praise. Sanctions will apply in roll-call for students who do not conform to uniform expectations in the usual way.

Please check the weekly newsletter for specific uniform arrangements and expectations for the week ahead.

Help purchasing uniform

If you require help purchasing uniform we have a small selection of pre-loved uniform available. Students can borrow uniform if they forget an item. It must be returned at the end of every day otherwise a charge will be placed on ParentPay.

Uniform Swap or Shop is a 'pop up' shop that we run during Parents' Evening and other similar events.

At each event, you can come along and buy items of pre-loved uniform for a small donation. Alternatively, you can bring uniform items and swap them for something else. So, for example, if your child has outgrown their blazer or PE kit, you can swap it for a bigger one (subject to availability)
