Bugs and beetles – Colour theory and printing

The bugs and beetles project is an exciting exploration of colour theory and printing techniques. Students will learn about Christopher Marley, a keen bug collector and artist. We use the repeating patterns and compositions of Christopher Marleys work to inspire our poly printing processes. Students will also learn how to paint in watercolour and apply advanced colour theory to their own work.

Under the sea – Drawing and collage

The Under the Sea project allows students to advance their skills in drawing, painting and collage. We will look at the work of Ernst Heackel, an avid botanist of the Victorian era, who created incredibly detailed works of art looking in detail at sea life specimens. Students will learn about composition and proportion and even get to put together their own still life using a brilliant collection of weird and wonderful shells!
