Humanities

Within the humanities department we aim to develop awareness of the wider world along with the essential skills needed for success in all aspects of life. 

Full details of the Humanities Curriculum at key stage 3, 4, and 5 can be found as follows:

Key Stage 3

In KS3, students have five lessons per week of humanities, studying history and geography for two lessons each per week and R.E. for one lesson per week. Students are assessed on their learning at the end of each term, in line with the school assessment policy.

Key Stage 4

At KS4, students can choose from a range of GCSE subjects within Humanities including; Geography, History, Religious Studies and BTEC Level 2 Health and Social Care. 

Key Stage 5

There is also an opportunity to study Geography, History, Philosophy and Ethics, Sociology and Psychology at A level, Applied Diploma in Criminology, and BTEC Level 3 in Health and Social Care and the Level 3 Extended Project Qualification.
