Applying for a Place at Swindon Academy

New Students

Admission into Swindon Academy is coordinated by Swindon Borough Council.  All parents, including those with children in Year 6 at either Alton Close or Beech Avenue Primary, should make an online application on Swindon Borough Council’s admissions portal at:

https://www.swindon.gov.uk/info/20071/school_places_and_admissions/424/secondary_school_places_and_admissions

You can select three schools.  If Swindon Academy is your first choice of school for your son/daughter, you must put the school as first choice.  Failure to do so could mean that you are allocated a different school.  For entry into Year 7 in September 2022, parents must have submitted their application by 31st October 2021 AT THE LATEST. Failure to submit your application before this date can mean that a place may not be available, since we are fully subscribed in Year 7.

Grammar Stream: if parents are interested in the Grammar Stream at Swindon Academy, they will also need to register their interest in the Grammar Stream at: https://www.swindon-academy.org/grammar-stream/register-your-interest. They must accept a place at Swindon Academy for their son/daughter to enable them to sit the Entrance Exam for Grammar Stream, please see here for details).

What happens next?

On Monday 1st March 2022, parents will be notified which school their son/daughter has been allocated to.  If parents are happy with the school their child has been allocated, they must accept the place NO LATER than Monday 15th March 2022.
