Information Events

When you register your interest for the Grammar Stream, you are invited to attend these events via email, so please make sure you choose a frequently used email - just one per family please. NB: some events have limited numbers.

Grammar Stream In Action at Swindon Academy 

Parents and carers are invited into Swindon Academy on a weekday morning (usually 9 - 10am) to enable them to get a feel for our Grammar Stream teaching, speak directly to our Grammar Stream leadership team, and meet students. This is a 1 hour event including a quick introduction and then parents are escorted by Grammar Stream students on a tour of our classrooms, to get a glance into lessons. This short session is intended for parents/ carers  - we do not expect children to attend during school time, unless permission has been sought.The next dates are:

Open mornings: Thursday 24th September and Friday 2nd October 2026, 9-10am

Taster Sessions for students

Tour and taster at Marlborough College, Wiltshire, for students and their families.

Marlborough College host a Taster Session for students while their parents have a short tour of the College and introductory talk about the role the College plays to support the Grammar Stream at Swindon Academy.  NB: participants should make their own travel arrangements, free parking on site

Maths Mastery and English Excellence Taster Lessons at Swindon Academy

To help pupils decide if they enjoy the level of challenge provided in Grammar Stream, we are holding a Maths Mastery and English Excellence Taster Session (for Year 6 students) at Swindon Academy.  The next date is:

Saturday 23rd January 2027 morning, 9:30 - 11:15am
