A Level Biology is designed with a content-led approach and provides a flexible way of learning that builds on knowledge from GCSE content.  Biology is a highly respected course and is necessary entry requirement for many science-based degrees.  The ability and skills required to do well on this course make it not only highly sought after by university admission tutors but also well respected by employers.

The modules studied are as follows: development of practical skills, foundations in biology, structure and function of gas exchange and transport systems, biodiversity of organisms, photosynthesis and respiration and the role of genes in regulating and controlling cell function and development.

Students who have successfully taken other Level 2 qualifications in science or applied science, with appropriate biology content may have acquired sufficient knowledge to begin the AS Biology course.
