The content of this course ranges from outdoor adventure activities to leadership in a sporting environment. The course also includes physiology of the body during exercise and sports psychology. Students will also be able to lead primary school students through a variety of activities and gain work experience with local leisure centres and clubs whilst completing this vocational course.

Students gain the opportunity to deepen their understanding in a sports coaching and development unit, as part of this learners coach younger students in a variety of sports and physical activities. Students will deepen their knowledge in all areas covered by the technical diploma and gain more knowledge in specialist areas such as exercise as part of a healthy lifestyle and practical sports.  

Students study units in anatomy and physiology in sport, sports organisation and development, working safety in sport and sport as a business as part of an examination-based units, sport and exercise psychology, group exercise to music, fitness testing for sport and exercise, organisation of sports events, leadership in sport, work experience in sport, performance analysis, sport and exercise sociology, practical individual sports and sports
