Supra-Curricular Programme at United College Sixth Form

At United College Sixth Form we want to maintain a purposeful environment to nurture academic passion and self-discovery.

Performing well in subject exams and building extensive classroom knowledge is essential; fostering a sense of academic passion and aspiration towards university subjects and possible future careers is not something done instead of classroom studying, but very much operates in parallel.

Working in partnership with Marlborough College, United College provides students a unique supra-curricular programme to ensures that every student develops personal experiences above and beyond the conventional syllabus.

It offers the best possible preparation for those applying to Oxford, Cambridge, Russell Group and other prestigious institutions, as well as a highly competitive degree courses such as Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science.

Evidence shows the great importance that employers place on ‘character, attitude and behaviour’ in assessing the future potential of candidates. Similarly, university admissions tutors are looking not for what a student has already achieved, but what they are capable of achieving in the future.

This is particularly true of the elite universities like Oxbridge and the Russell Group Universities which receive many only A*/A applicants, and so need to look for additional qualities in selecting the strongest candidates with the greatest potential.
