Welcome from the Principal

It is a privilege to welcome you to Swindon Academy, a school community built on high expectations, strong relationships and a shared commitment to ensuring that every child has the chance of living a happy and fulfilling life in the future.

At Swindon Academy, our values of Hard Work, Kindness and Taking Responsibility underpin everything we do. We believe that when young people are supported to work hard, show consideration for others and take ownership of their actions and ambitions, they develop the knowledge, character and confidence needed to thrive in modern society.

I am delighted to lead an academy where pupils are known, valued and encouraged to achieve their very best. Our dedicated staff, supportive families, committed governors and ambitious students work together to create a culture where everyone is encouraged to succeed. The academy is characterised by a strong sense of belonging, mutual respect and a determination to continually improve.

In July 2026, Ofsted recognised the quality of education, care and opportunities provided for our pupils. Inspectors highlighted the academy's ambitious curriculum, positive culture, high expectations and commitment to ensuring that pupils are well prepared for their next stages of education, employment and training.

We are exceptionally proud of the outcomes achieved by our pupils. Swindon Academy is the highest-performing secondary school in Swindon for GCSE progress, with attainment significantly above national averages and that of other Swindon secondary schools, reflecting the ambition, dedication and hard work of our students and staff. Ofsted recognised that pupils achieve impressive outcomes, including disadvantaged pupils and those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. These outcomes demonstrate our unwavering commitment to ensuring every child fulfils their potential and is well prepared for their next stage of education, training or employment.

We offer an educational journey from our Nursery provision through to Year 11, providing children with a seamless and nurturing experience that supports both academic achievement and personal development.

Our Grammar Stream provides a unique pathway for highly able students, offering academic challenge alongside exceptional opportunities for personal growth. Following Year 11, many of our students continue their education at United College Sixth Form, where they study a wide range of A Level and vocational qualifications alongside students from across the region.

Education at Swindon Academy extends far beyond the classroom. We are committed to developing confident, compassionate and responsible young people who contribute positively to their communities. Through a rich programme of enrichment, leadership opportunities, sport, the arts, educational visits and wider experiences, pupils develop the character and resilience needed to succeed in life.

Our unique partnership with Marlborough College further enhances these opportunities, providing students with access to mentoring, coaching, residential experiences and collaborative projects that broaden horizons and raise aspirations.
