Local businesses have donated Just Eat Vouchers to be won by students who complete all their “live” online lessons each week
Swindon Academy teaching staff have been running lessons online throughout Lockdown for all Secondary School pupils, and to encourage even greater engagement, students who complete 100% of their live lessons every week, are entered into a prize draw to win Just Eat take-away meal vouchers.
There are two prizes (worth £40 each) to be won at the end of the week; one for KS3 (Year group 7,8 and 9), and one for KS4 (year group 10 & 11). The prize not only recognises the efforts of the student but the support and guidance of their parents or carers. Nick Warren, Assistant Principal Swindon Academy Secondary School says:
“We know it’s difficult for students to stay focussed when they’re working at home, so this a fun incentive to help them stay engaged all week: the chance to win a take-away meal on Friday night for their family. With donations from businesses in Royal Wootton Bassett, Cricklade, Marlborough and Bath, we’ve been able to purchase enough Just Eat Vouchers to offer a prize each week. We’ll announce the winners on Friday afternoons to the students and parents through Epraise”.
He continues “The support we’ve had in terms of donations has been amazing, and we are giving a shout out to our sponsors through social media each Friday”.
Swindon Academy would like to thank all the individuals and businesses who have provided funding towards this initiative, they are included in the list below, which will be updated. NB: some have asked to remain anonymous, so will not appear in publicity.
