BECKIEE TIMMS and MARLEY FURGUSON perform with YOUTH MUSIC THEATRE
/ Categories: News
In February, two of Swindon Academy’s gifted and talented performing arts students, Rebecca Timms and Marlee Ferguson attended a national audition process for Youth Music Theatre in Shrewsbury at Theatre Severn.
Between November 2014 and February 2015, over 1200 young people auditioned at venues throughout the UK, many from specialised performing arts schools and colleges. It was an incredible experience that consisted of a 3 hour audition process where Rebecca and Marlee had to impress a panel of judges (a professional director, a musical director and a choreographer) with their skills in all three performing arts disciplines; singing, acting and dancing. Both Rebecca and Marlee scored highly and were successful.
Rebecca took part in a new theatre production of Fagin, which was performed this summer at the Wilde Theatre in Bracknell and Marlee performed in The Midnight Flower Press, a new show that ran at The Barbican Theatre in Plymouth. Both performers were magnificent and took everything in their stride. We are extremely proud of both students.
Without doubt this experience will live with both Beckiee and Marlee as one of the most influential of their lives for many years to come. A great example of how Swindon Academy helps our pupils believe in themselves and raise aspirations.
