Transition from Year 6 into Year 7

We are delighted that your son/daughter will be joining us in September.  We had hoped to be able to invite parents and our new students into school this week, and are disappointed that we cannot meet you in person.  Instead we have redesigned the transition process so you can still gain all the information that you and your son/daughter will might like to know before starting with us.

Once you have viewed/read the information contained in the presentations and documents below, please remember to complete the Permissions Form and Admissions Form that has been emailed to you.  We need this information BEFORE your child starts with us.  We can't wait to meet you all soon!

Day 1 in Year 7

The first day for Year 7 pupils will be Friday 3rd September.  Details of arrangements for the start of term are below.  Students will need to wear full school uniform.  they will not need to bring their PE kit for their first day, but depending on their timetable, may need it on their second day.  Details of the PE kit can be found in the Uniform Expectations Booklet below.

  • The pupil gates open at 8.00am - these are located to the right of the main entrance.  Please ensure your child arrives no later than 8.15am.
  • On their first day, Year 7 pupils will only have Year 11 pupils in school with them, so it will be a quieter day while they get used to their surroundings.
  • Please ensure they have all their equipment with them, as specified in the Uniform and Equipment Expectations Booklet below.
  • They will need to bring money for lunch or a packed lunch if you are not entitled to free school meals.
  • The school day finishes at 3.35pm.
  • On their first day they will spend time with their tutor, get to know their tutor group, become familiar with the school building and be taught the expectated behaviours and routines.
  • PLEASE NOTE: For safety we have a barrier across the entrance to the school.  Therefore, parents cannot drive up the driveway to drop off children.  You will need to park in a nearby safe place to drop them off.
