Exams Information

It is our aim at Swindon Academy to make examinations as successful as possible for all candidates. 

If you have any questions or worries about your exams, or any exam that your son or daughter is sitting, please contact the Exams Officer, Mrs Jenni Sibley at jenni.sibley@swindon-academy.org or on 01793 426912. 

Formal examinations are subject to a strict set of procedures. Public timetabled exams are conducted on the same date and time nationally, so cannot be moved. If a student is unable to attend an exam, the school should be contacted as a matter of urgency. Student timetables for the summer exam season are normally distributed after the Easter break, but dates can be found on the exam board websites.   See the key dates below.

All students are expected to comply with the regulations in order to avoid disqualification from the exam. Students should read these documents before entering their exam. Please click on the links below to see documents that provide Information for candidates.

As a centre we are obliged to comply with regulations put in place by the Joint Council for Qualifications. Please see our complaints and appeals procedure, regarding our centre’s delivery and administration of a qualification and also our internal appeals procedure.

Key Dates

For summer 2023 public exams will run from Monday 15 May to Friday 23 June 2023.  However, GCSE and GCE (or equivalent) exam contingency day is Wednesday 28^th June 2023. This date has been arranged by the exam boards in the event of a national or local disruption to exams. All students must be available to sit examinations on the National Contingency Day.
