Honda School of Dreams

The School of Dreams has been working with our Year 6 and 7 students for the last three years. It is developed by Honda (UK) and a team of independent education experts; the programme helps young people to understand the importance of pursuing their dreams, and teaches skills and strategies to help turn their ambitions into reality.

Students were involved in two day workshops where they spent time learning how to work in groups, solve problems, research and make presentations, all using their imaginations to achieve beyond what they thought they could.  Local feeder primary schools were also invited to the workshops to work alongside students from Swindon Academy. School of Dreams is also continuing beyond these workshops.  

A team of students who participated in the workshops are choosing a project which will enable them to make a difference to the school or their community. They will be supported in making this dream a reality by our local Honda dealership. They have decided to campaign to build a playground for young children on the local green.

Recently Swindon Academy hosted a showcase event for Honda School of Dreams, when our students and others from schools across the Southwest had the opportunity to discuss and present their work, and to educate other schools about how this program has helped them.  All participating in this event were lucky enough to see ASIMO in action throughout the evening.
