Pupil Premium

Swindon Academy achieved its best ever GCSE results in 2015. We are proud that our Pupil Premium pupils outperformed Pupil Premium pupils nationally at GCSE.  Not only did 53% of the year 11 cohort achieve at least 5A*-Cs including English and maths, but the gap in achievement between Pupil Premium pupils and their peers was significantly reduced.  52% of our Pupil Premium students achieved 5A*-C including English and maths compared to 36% of Pupil Premium students nationally.  The wide range of approaches and interventions outlined in the attachments on this page came together in a programme which successfully raised the aspirations of our pupil premium pupils whilst giving them the individual support to reach their potential.  This programme is raising achievement across the school, and has also led to significant improvements in attendance, behaviour and in the quality of teaching.
