High standards of behaviour are an essential part of what is expected of all Swindon Academy students. This is achieved through high expectations, a real focus on learning and progress, positive and respectful relationships and praise and reward.
The Behaviour for Learning Policy applies to behaviour in class, around the academy and serious incidents but also applies to extra-curricular activities, school trips and travel to and from school. In all cases, there is a clear system for recording incidents relating to the above categories through the Academy’s Behaviour for Learning System (B4L). This ensures the monitoring and tracking of behaviour for learning for individuals, colleges, year groups, curriculum areas and whole school for all phases within the Academy.
The policy also makes clear the roles and responsibilities of all members of staff in managing behaviour and implementing sanctions and rewards (please refer to the rewards policy for further details). For details on whole staff and individual responsibilities, please refer to section titled Roles.
